Job Description HealthPartners is hiring for a LPN/Medical Assistant/EMT to help support the Coon Rapids Clinic. The Medical Assistant/EMT Position Responsibilities Include Room patients and complete vital signs and other pertinent physical measurements. Administer medication and clinical procedures according to authorized policy and documented according to HealthPartners policy. This may include DISCUS or AIMS assessment. Review charts for the presence of pertinent information relevant to the patient’s appointment. This may include Prepared Practice work as developed by the team. Provide and document any needed and requested health educational materials to the patient. Handle patient and their records in a private and confidential manner per HealthPartners policy. Seek medical and/or nursing assistance when encountering an acutely ill patient or a patient with a changing condition. Prepare exam rooms and treatment rooms and set up for procedures. Assist provider as needed. Prepare the patient for medical interventions. Prepare charts and records for appointments as indicated by the type of clinic visit according to established practices. Check MSRs for completion and route appropriately. Prepare lab, x-ray and miscellaneous forms as requested Process drug refills according to clinic protocols Monitor station logs as assigned. Facilitate timely and accurate flow of communication within the clinic/location. Accurately receive and relay messages and test results to the appropriate person/location in a manner consistent with clinic practices and/or standards. Gather all necessary and appropriate information from a caller and relay information to the appropriate provider for necessary follow-up. Inform reception desk of provider’s schedule status and assist in coordination of urgent and non-urgent provider schedule changes to ensure patient and provider needs are met. Perform patient correspondence when requested and assist patients in completing forms when appropriate. Prepare and sterilize instruments and equipment according to procedure and OSHA standards. Complete scheduled cleaning requirements for designated work areas. Document completion of work to comply with infection control and OSHA standards Implement other infection control procedures as needed and adhere to protective clothing requirements. Ensure clinic supplies are adequately stocked and well organized. Process and deliver department inventory requests in a timely manner. Routinely check expiration dates and remove or replace outdated supplies. Maintain prescription sample supply cabinet as per clinic protocol Ensure all equipment is properly maintained and adequate records are kept. Ensure inventory of instruments and equipment is current. Ensure instruments and equipment are calibrated as needed and maintained in proper working order. The University of Miami UHealth Primary Care - North Miami has an exciting opportunity for a full-time Registered Nurse 2. The Registered Nurse assesses assigned patients and evaluates plans to include documentation of nursing care. Reports symptoms and changes in patients’ condition and vital signs. Modifies patient treatment plans as indicated by patients’ responses and conditions, and physician orders. Reviews, evaluates and reports diagnostic tests to assess patient’s condition. Consults with physicians and other healthcare professionals related to assigned patients to assess, plan, implement and evaluate patient care plans. Prepares patients for, and assists with examinations, procedures and treatments. Considers patient age and culture during patient treatments and provides any needed information regarding treatment plan. Nurtures a compassionate environment by providing psychological support. Performs appropriate patient tests and safely administers medications within the scope of practice. Administers and maintains accurate records related to medications and treatments as per regulatory bodies, policies, procedures and physician orders. Communicates plan of care in a timely manner to patient and family, as well as the appropriate team members, ensuring compliance with all regulatory guidelines (i.e. HIPAA). Uses best practices for transition of patient care. Uses available resources to assist in discharge planning. Plans, prioritizes, and adjusts assignments to accomplish goals and render superior patient care; seeks assistance when needed. A dapts to changing work demands and environment. Operates the appropriate medical equipment. Adheres to University and unit-level policies and procedures and safeguards University assets. Core Qualifications: Education: Graduated from accredited school of nursing. Bachelor of Science in nursing required (BSN). Certification and Licensing: Current Florida Registered Nurse license Current American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) for healthcare providers Certification Experience: Minimum 2 years of relevant nursing experience required.
