The Float Pool RN is part of a resource team that is assigned to varying units during their shift to ensure that patient care needs are met. These RNs possess the skills, competency, and qualifications, as well as a requirement to work in several different clinical areas. This group shall be known as the Float Pool. These employees are a part of Patient Care Services. There are three RN teams in the float Pool, RN Team 1, Specialty Track/ CCU, RN Team 2, Inpatient Acute, and RN Team 3, Women' Services. QUALIFICATIONS Education: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing required. 4 Year/Bachelor's Degree preferred - BSN preferred. Experience: Team 1 (Specialty/CCU): Minimum of 2 years in critical care or ED setting required. Team 2 (Inpatient Acute): Minimum of1 year general medical surgical/telemetry experience required. Team 3 (Women's Services): Minimum of 2 years in Labor and Delivery, Postpartum, or NICU required. All teams require Cardiac Dysrhythmia test or successful completion of the Cardiac Dysrhythmia course within 6 months of hire. Refer to the Life Support Training Policy for additional details.
