What you will do in this role: Assess the patients condition during admission and each scheduled shift, promptly identifying and reporting any changes in patient status. Perform procedures, monitoring, or other functions as ordered by the medical provider(s), and ensure thorough and timely documentation of care administration in the patients medical record. - Administer prescribed medications, monitor the patient for therapeutic response, and take appropriate action in the event of an unintended response to the medication. Provide exceptional care by responding promptly to patient requests, proactively anticipating patient needs, and resolving them. Educate patients, families, and caregivers about the patients medical condition, treatment plan, medications, possible side effects, and follow-up measures, ensuring complete understanding by translating complex medical terminology. What qualifications you will need: PROGRAM REQUIREMENTS Applicable to all hospitals in the Austin market, unless specifically noted for select facilities. All seasonal staff are required to work a minimum of 72 hours per pay period during the seasonal period. Regardless of start date, seasonal program/assignment ends on March 31, 2027. Within a close geography, you may be asked to float to another facility that has an emergent staffing need. Four (4) weekend shifts are required each 4 week schedule period. During the course of the 32-week period, the employee is required to work two (2) holiday shifts (defined by Department Manager or designee), if holidays fall during their temporary assignment period. Seasonal Staff are TEMPORARY status employees and are subject to first call-off. There are no guaranteed hours by the hospital. Seasonal Staff will not be eligible for benefits. Registered Nurses who are in the Seasonal program will have one opportunity to pass the clinical competency evaluation. Current FT/PT & PRN employees are not eligible to join the Seasonal program.
