L&D RN Position Summary The L&D RN provides nursing care for pregnant mothers beginning around the 16th week of pregnancy all the way through the immediate postpartum period. The L&D RN also provides care to the newborn immediately after delivery as well as care for families that experience a loss of pregnancy. The L&D RN is responsible for developing, implementing and evaluating a plan of patient care utilizing ANA Standards and the Nursing Process. The registered nurse acts as a patient advocate.
