Job Profile Summary This role focuses on providing professional and nonprofessional nursing care services in accordance with physician orders. In addition, this role focuses on performing the following Nurse Navigator duties: Focuses on the patient's needs and helps guide the patient through the healthcare system and works to overcome obstacles that are in the way of the patient receiving the care and treatment they require. Job Overview The RN Navigator serves as a liaison between patients, community resources, and providers and supports a smooth transition from hospital to home with a goal of eliminating and/or reducing readmissions, patient satisfaction, and continuity of care across the continuum. The 8-bed Pediatrics unit serves newborns through adolescents with a range of medical and post-operative needs. Together, these departments offer a dynamic, collaborative environment where float nurses deliver high-quality, compassionate care across the full continuum of maternal and child health. About the Job The MCH Clinical Float Pool RN is an experienced registered nurse who provides flexible coverage across multiple units within the Maternal Child Health division. The float pool nurse does not have a fixed unit assignment -- floating within the division is the primary function of this role. Float pool nurses are selected for this role based on clinical depth in their home specialty, a genuine comfort with variability, and willingness to maintain competency across multiple care settings.
