Clinical Unit Leader – Ashland ED Job Summary: The Lead RN/Charge Nurse is responsible for coordinating patient care on a designated unit. Evergreen Hospice serves patients in Linn, Benton, Marion, Polk, Lincoln and Tillamook Counties. These services are offered in the home setting which may include the patient’s own residence, skilled nursing facilities, assisted living facilities and adult foster homes. Department Overview The CHO Adult Ambulatory Oncology Infusion Clinic at OHSU primarily serves patients within Hematology Oncology, Medical Oncology and Classical Hematology. Summary Occasionally JOB SUMMARY/PURPOSE The Registered Nurse (RN) is accountable for utilizing the nursing process to provide safe, age-appropriate, direct and indirect patient care, while practicing within the scope of practice of the Oregon State Board of Nursing. DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION The LDRP team offers labor, delivery and recovery including post partum and newborn care by a highly trained team of nurses and medical staff in a family centered caring and medically safe environment. All sites are trained in GYN surgical care. EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION/QUALIFICATIONS Current unencumbered Oregon RN license required. Healthcare Provider Level BLS required upon hire. NLH LDRP: ACLS required within 90 days of hire. NRP and STABLE required within six (6) months of hire. NLH Labor and Delivery: Basic Fetal Monitoring skills required. Previous experience in Labor and Delivery preferred. Will train qualified RN with Perinatal experience. NLH Postpartum Gynecological Unit: Previous Perinatal nursing experience preferred. NLH Nursery: Experience in stabilization of the newborn preferred. One (1) year experience as general duty nurse with emphasis on adult and/or pediatric nursing preferred. Previous experience in stabilization of the high risk neonate preferred. KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES Social Perceptiveness: Ability to work with a diverse population from pediatrics to geriatrics. Basic understanding of age-related differences in caring for and/or communicating with patients and caregivers. Ability to initiate appropriate interventions in caring for the family during the immediate newborn period, accepts responsibility for actions. Possess assessment skills specific to the high risk pregnancy. Ability to initiate an intravenous line. Basic knowledge of pharmacodynamics of anesthesia and analgesia. NLH LDRP - Nursery: Knowledge of the physical and psychological changes of the neonate immediately after birth, and during the newborn period. Ability to initiate appropriate interventions in caring for the family during the immediate newborn period. Possess assessment skills specific to the high risk neonate. NLH LDRP - Postpartum Gynecological Unit: Knowledge of the physical and psychological changes of pregnancy, birth and the immediate postpartum period for the mother and her neonate. Ability to initiate appropriate interventions in caring for the family after delivery. Knowledge of the physical and psychological changes of the Gynecologic patient.
