All of the 15- rooms on the unit are private. We are staffed with a diverse group of professional nurses, certified nursing assistants, and unit secretaries to provide care to adult patients with acute medical needs requiring hospitalization. We collaborate with physicians, physician assistants, nurse practitioners, social work, and case management to provide exceptional care to our patients. Some examples of common diagnoses of our patient population include COPD, diabetes, DVT, asthma, sepsis, renal failure, change in mental status, CHF, anemia and pneumonia. Our team of professionals utilize evidence-based practice and lifelong learning to enhance patient care. Summary: The Clinical Nurse 1 New to Practice/Apprentice is a newly licensed new-to-practice RN or RN with less than 15 months of experience that demonstrates basic safe practice within the organizational professional practice model. The CCTT nurse assumes responsibility and is accountable for the delivery and management of expert, specialty care of the critically ill or injured neonate, infant, child, or adolescent during inter-facility pediatric transports. Principal admitting diagnoses includes prematurity, respiratory illnesses, neurological disorders and trauma patients. The team uses specially-designed equipment to maintain or exceed the level of care provided by referring facilities, to include multi-parameter vital-sign monitors, high-flow oxygen delivery units, mechanical ventilators, Nitric Oxide delivery units, cooling units, compact infusion pumps and defibrillator/external pacemakers. Job Description Nemours is seeking Registered Nurse for our 4 West Unit. Schedule consists of casual, 48 hours per the six week block minimum, one 12 hour weekend per block and two holidays per year. Join Nemours Pediatric Nursing! 4 West is a 24-four-bed limited-stay unit that typically cares for general medical surgical patients whose care is driven by protocols. The unit consists of single patient care rooms, which can also be isolation rooms. The goal of the unit is to provide very high-quality, high-value patient care within a 72-hour time frame. Each patient room is equipped with oxygen, compressed air and suction, along with state-of-the-art cardiorespiratory bedside monitors and computers that enable the health care team to access a patient’s electronic medical record. These computers are also used in the barcoding administration of medications which ensures patient safety by verifying that the correct medication is given to the appropriate child. Family-centered care rounds are performed daily to assure an interprofessional approach and partnership with the patient and family The primary role of the Registered Nurse is to implement the patient care delivery model for the patient and their family. Additionally the registered nurse is responsible and accountable for assessing, planning, providing and evaluating, the care provided to assigned patients. Additional Requirements You must be a graduate of an accredited school of nursing. BSN preferred, must complete BSN within three years of hire Inpatient Experience Preferred Must be eligible for Delaware State license (or compact license).
