Description: You would be joining the Ayer Neuroscience Institute at Hartford Hospital in the position of Nurse Manager on the Bliss 9i which is16 bed unit composed of a combination Neuroscience and Medical ICU. This role has the benefits of being part of the Neuroscience Institute along with the resources and teamwork that it brings. Your role, in partnership with the Nurse Director, would be to support the management, budgeting, staffing and patient care this combined ICU. RNs in this specialty also must have a family-centered approach because of the critical nature of our patients. We also work closely with our Critical Care Clinicians, Neuro-intensivist, Physician Assistants and Advanced Practice Registered Nurses to provide the highest quality of care for our patients. Functioning within the framework for professional nursing practice, the Patient Unit Manager supports and assists the Director. This position has 24 hour accountability for managing resources (human, material and financial), to ensure quality, cost-effective delivery of patient services for specific patient populations, in a defined area across the continuum.
