What you'll do The Registered Professional Nurse IV, Acute Care is accountable for the delivery of safe patient care utilizing the nursing process. The RN assesses, plans, delivers, coordinates, integrates, and evaluates nursing care related to patient's needs. The RN contributes to the support of patients through interdisciplinary teamwork. RN IV is accountable to assure that the care provided is consistent with applicable standards, regulations, statutes and state, federal law. RN IV serves as a resource for other staff and clinicians as required. The RN IV provides leadership to department staff, serving as a resource and mentor. The RN IV contributes to the body of professional nursing practice through participation in research, committee work, and professional organizations, internal and external. Provides nursing care and services to patients throughout the life span and in various settings consistent with educational preparation. Collects, analyzes and records relevant patient health data accurately, with no more than 3-5 exceptions, as measured by random supervisory chart review and/or direct supervisory observation and co-worker feedback. Acts effectively as charge nurse, group leader or preceptor when assigned, as determined by co-worker or preceptee feedback and direct managerial observation. Writes a progress note that demonstrates an understanding of the patient’s status and progress toward achievement of goals (80-90%). Effectively precepts new staff members or students as determined by preceptee/student feedback and direct managerial observation. Ability to function in charge nurse or leadership capacity as determined by practice arena. Advocates for patients to ensure that care preserves and protects the patient’s autonomy, dignity and rights. Delivers care in a non-judgmental and non-discriminatory manner that is sensitive to patient diversity, 100% of the time, as measured by no significant, substantiated patient or peer complaints received by the manager/supervisor. Assures that patients have informed consent signed for indicated procedures, 100% of the time, as measured by random supervisory chart review. Acts on behalf of patients in an ethical manner 100% of the time, as measured by co-worker and patient feedback and managerial observation. Adheres to ANA Code of Ethics for Professional Nurses. Acquires and maintains current knowledge and skills in his or her area of practice. Provides proof of current licensure validation to supervisor. What we need from you Education: 4 year / Bachelor's degree in Nursing, preferred Experience may be substituted for degree Master's degree in Nursing, preferred All RN’s hired and do not currently hold a BSN will be expected to demonstrate enrollment in a bachelor’s prepared nursing program within 4 years of hire. BSN must be completed within 10 years. RN’s licensed on or before 12/19/17 are/remain exempt from this requirement. When determining base salary and/or rate, several factors may be considered including, but not limited to location, years of relevant experience, education, credentials, negotiated contracts, budget, market data, and internal equity. Bonus and/or incentive eligibility are determined by role and level. The salary applies specifically to the position being advertised and does not include potential bonuses, incentive compensation, differential pay or other forms of compensation, compensation allowance, or benefits health or welfare. Actual total compensation may vary based on factors such as experience, skills, qualifications, and other relevant criteria.
