Act as a consultant to external health care personnel about clinical apheresis. Coordinate closely with physicians and nurses at a variety of hospitals to arrange therapeutic apheresis treatments and facilitate coordinated care. Evaluate patient medication for compatibility and safety of apheresis procedure and determine when to contact the physician. Assemble, restock, QC, and maintain supplies and equipment in a state of readiness to maintain a clean, safe, and efficient work environment. Cleveland Clinic Hillcrest Hospital has engineered a leading-edge obstetrics (OB) ED specially equipped to assess and treat the unique complications that can arise during pregnancy. The goal of this 7-bed unit is to provide rapid, appropriate treatment that is focused on the well-being of both mother and fetus. This unit is located within Hillcrest Hospital’s Labor and Delivery Unit. When an expected mother arrives in the primary ED, they are triaged and directed to the correct path of care. Many will be taken directly to a dedicated OB area. By doing this the wait times will be shorter, and the staff is specially trained in obstetrics and women can be seen by a staff OB/Gyn practitioner. Our Center for Workplace Violence Prevention and Caregiver Well-Being sets caregiver safety as a priority, identifying, reporting and responding to incidents and providing safety resources. A caregiver in this position works nights from 7:00 p.m. – 7:30 a.m. + on call with every other weekend and holiday rotation requirements. A caregiver who excels in this role will: Provide direct nursing care. Implement and monitor patient care plans. Monitor, record and communicate patients’ conditions. Evaluate, update and revise plan of care to facilitate achievement of planned and expected outcomes Note and carry out physician and nursing orders. Assess and coordinate patients’ discharge needs. Educate patients and family with educational materials considering cultural issues and other special concerns Administer prescribed medications and treatment in accordance with approved nursing protocol Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include: Graduate from an accredited School of Professional Nursing (ADN or BSN program) Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) Basic Life Support (BLS), and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross One year of current acute care RN experience OR military RN experience Labor & Delivery experience Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include: Bachelor of science in nursing (BSN) In-patient bedside patient experience Pediatric experience Physical Requirements: Requires full range of body motion including handling and lifting patient, manual and finger dexterity, and eye-hand coordination. Requires standing and walking for extended periods of time. Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range. Requires working under stressful conditions and irregular hours. Exposure to communicable diseases and/or body fluids. Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Physical Demand requirements are in excess of those for Light Work. Personal Protective Equipment: Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
