Essential Responsibilities: Patient Care: Welcome patients and prepare them for provider examinations by obtaining and documenting patient history, chief complaint, current medications, allergies, medical history, surgical history, family history, social history, preventive care information, and other relevant clinical information in the electronic medical record (EMR). Measure, document, and report vital signs and other clinical observations. Prepare patients and examination rooms for provider visits. Initiate and monitor IV infusions when appropriately trained and permitted by state regulations. Perform phlebotomy and prepare specimens for laboratory testing. Perform CLIA-waived laboratory testing in accordance with established procedures. Conduct in-office diagnostic testing, including but not limited to: Electrocardiograms (EKGs) Vision screenings Pulse oximetry Peak flow testing Oxygen administration as ordered Inhalation treatments Spirometry Perform PT/INR testing using approved equipment (CoaguChek/Coag-Sense) and glucose testing using a glucometer.
