How you make a difference The Regional Director of Nursing (RDON) is a highly skilled and experienced Registered Professional Nurse with advanced studies and expertise in Nursing Services administration. As an RDON, they are responsible for structuring, planning, and implementing the Nursing Service Program within assigned regions, ensuring that all activities are compliant with American Correctional Association (ACA), National Commission on Correctional Health Care (NCCHC), and State accreditation standards. The RDON's authority, responsibility, and accountability ensure that the nursing program's goals, objectives, policies, and procedures align with those of the company and the facility. Key Responsibilities Oversee planning, policy development, and patient care evaluation to ensure compliance with ACA, NCCHC, and State standards. Provide guidance and support to nursing staff in their region, including coordinating training and education opportunities. Serve as a liaison between nursing services, other healthcare providers, and the Regional Manager and Medical Director. Monitor and report on nursing incidents and communicable diseases, and assess policies and procedures as needed. Assist the Medical Director in developing nursing guidelines and manuals for the region. Qualifications & Requirements Education Must be graduated from an accredited School of Nursing. Experience Emergency Room, communicable disease, with medical and surgical experience preferred. 5 years of supervisory experience in an acute setting recommended. Experience in delivery and administration of correctional nursing services preferred. Licenses/Certifications Must have and maintain current licensure as a registered nurse within the state as well as CPR certification. How you make a difference The Charge Registered Nurse is responsible for overseeing the total health care delivery system in their assigned nursing unit, including the collection and evaluation of health status data, nursing diagnosis, goal setting, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care. They provide direct supervision of patient teaching and ensure that ancillary personnel only perform services for which they are qualified. The Charge RN is accountable for the overall quality of patient care in their assigned unit. Key Responsibilities Supervising the total health care delivery system in their assigned unit, ensuring compliance with policy and procedure, and coordinating patient care with other departments. Monitoring nursing service, maintain accurate records, and identify potential problems, proposing corrective actions as needed.
