Assumes responsibility in a shared or delegated assignment and supports team member’s practices through timely communication. 15. Participates in meetings, committees and department projects as assigned. 22. Performs other related projects and duties as assigned. REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES: 1. Maintains clinical competency as required for the unit of assignment including but not limited to population-specific competencies and participates in annual skill competency verification. 2. Knowledge of federal and state regulations related to nursing applications and relative practice area. 3. Knowledge of computer hardware equipment and software applications relevant to work functions. 4. Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing. 5. Ability to delegate, provide instruction and evaluate the work of LPN’s and unlicensed professional 6. Ability to maintain confidentiality of patient information. 7. Ability to exercise professional judgment, courtesy and tact in daily interactions with others. 8. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with health care team members and diverse patient populations. 9. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment relevant to changing patient needs, including work with patients with acute, chronic, and complex disease processes, and those who are dying. 10. Ability to maintain regular and punctual attendance. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Current Registered Nurse licensure from the State of Nebraska or approved compact state of residence as defined by the Nebraska Nurse Practice Act. Description MaineHealth Maine Medical Center, Portland, ME,is recruiting for a Physician Assistant (PA) or Acute Care Nurse Practitioner (ACNP) Nocturnist with 3-5 years of critical care experience to work at Maine Medical Center providing coverage for cardiac patients primarily in an adult ICU setting.You will be joining a comprehensive Cardiac Surgery Program which consists of 6 Cardiac Surgeons and 25 PAs/NPs with upwards of 1400 cases annually. This is a wonderful opportunity to work in an exciting environment with a broad scope of practice.The APP team works with a high level of autonomy supported by the Cardiac Surgeons and Cardiovascular Critical Care Intensivists to provide a high level of care for this leading-edge program. Cardiac surgery at Maine Medical Center is at the forefront of minimally invasive valve platforms, such as TAVR as well as advanced heart failure treatments, including ECMO and VADs. The primarily focus of this role is managing postoperative cardiac surgery patients in the CTICU with the possibility of covering the step-down unit and intermediate care unit when needed. Prisma Health Richland Hospital Neurosurgical Intensive Care Unit The Neurosurgical ICU is a 16-bed unit caring for critically ill patients with injury or disease to the nervous system. The nurse to patient ratio is 1:2. Common diagnoses of patients include post-op craniotomies or tumor resections, interventional radiology procedures, ischemic or hemorrhagic stroke including SAH, post TPA administration, brain tumor and AVM. Care of this population incorporates a multi-disciplinary team of physicians with specialized training in neuro critical care, acute care nurse practitioners, critical care nurses with neuroscience training and critical care trained pharmacists.
