Participates in the supervision and disciplinary action of employees in collaboration with nursing leadership. Completes performance reviews on assigned employees and contributes to the performance evaluation of other employees as requested. Assists in employee recruitment and retention efforts in partnership with nursing leadership and Human Resources. Serves as a medium of communication between individuals and shifts. Implements emergency services and initiates disaster planning according to Walden policy. Collaborative Practice Acts as a liaison between units, programs, and other departments. Intervenes and resolves staff issues that may contribute to ineffective work practices and/or negative patient outcomes. Professional Growth Maintains competency requirements. Monitors staff competence through observation of skills and implements initiatives to elevate practice. Acts as a role model for employees and uses experience as an educational tool. Regularly attends Grand Rounds or other offered educational in-services. Attends and contributes to the facilitation of monthly staff meetings. Serves as a trainer for identified patient care initiatives. Qualifications: Graduate of an accredited nursing program. 2 years RN experience, and 2 years of Supervisor experience in a general inpatient or behavioral health care setting preferred. Massachusetts RN license.
