Job Summary The Certified Medical Assistant assists in preparation for patient care, provides care coordination, clinical documentation, and other clinical support functions in a physician practice office setting. Job Responsibilities Prepare patients for physician/provider examination and administers injections and immunizations. Performs laboratory testing, EKG's and other medical office testing and procedures. Schedules appointments, testing procedures and works both front office and clinical areas as assigned. Ability to apply medical knowledge and critical thinking skills assisting physician for proficient and comprehensive documentation. Arrange for diagnostic testing, specialist appointments and hospital admission. May perform required phlebotomy, administer injections, immunizations and other special procedures, venipuncture, cleansing wounds/lesions sites. Measure and record at least three vital signs per patient visit. May fill in as a PSR completing check in/out tasks, referrals, and scheduling. May Perform telephone triage asking details of illness, answering questions, ensuring information is available, and reviewing phone calls with the nurse practitioner or physician as appropriate. Maintain waiting room, examination rooms, offices and order supplies as required. Contribute to team building through the support of management decisions and participating in performance improvement activities. Train other Medical Assistants. Notify management of changes in workload. Complete all educational requirements. Perform other duties as assigned. Education Requirements Minimum: High School Diploma or equivalent and completion of qualified Medical Assistant course. Experience Requirements Minimum: None Preferred: One (1) or more years of Medical Office experience, previous patient care experience in the physician office specialty area. License/Certification Requirements Minimum: Certified or Registered Medical Assistant and Basic Life Support (American Heart Association)

Overview Registered Nurse Coordinator – Endocrinology Position Summary The Registered Nurse Coordinator is a key clinical leadership role within the Endocrinology Service Line, responsible for overseeing the RN Triage team and Medical Assistants across multiple outpatient locations. Two years experience in an ambulatory setting preferred. Endocrinology experience preferred. Basic knowledge of medical terminology and general knowledge of ICD-9 and CPT coding. Knowledge of procedures for performing the functions appropriate to the specific clinical area and familiarity with designated pieces of equipment and supplies. Requires awareness and understanding of legal implications of patient care activities and performance as a Registered Nurse. Sufficient knowledge to observe and assist in the assessment of patients, and to detect and report obvious. and/or dangerous changes in the condition of patients. Basic working understanding of the concepts of infection control principles to prevent the spread of infection to patients, self and others. Basic knowledge of medical terminology and general knowledge of ICD-9 and CPT coding. Interpersonal skills necessary in order to carry out duties in a professional manner, as well as the ability to work well under stress. Knowledge of principles of growth/development across the life span. Requires ability to cope with varying personalities of patients. Requires ability to remain calm in emergency situations. Marketing rounds to include thank you notes/treats, updates on any new hospice changes or programing, feedback on cases, doing a needs assessment on any improvements in flow or communication of discharges. Clinical Liaison will make marketing rounds weekly to ensure Palliative team, Case managers and all referral sources know we are actively seeking new referrals. Work with marketing lead to visit top referring physician offices in the immediate area of the hospital to allow the staff to have a “face with a name”. This will increase our visibility and create rapport with the physicians, navigators and staff of our network partners. Collaboration: Meet with Palliative Care and Case Management team on daily basis to assess their patient needs to discharge home on hospice care. Work in coordination with Palliative Care and Case Management to communicate all discharge plans, family dynamics and our admission times once discharged, and any other pertinent details that will help with seamless discharge for the hospital teams. Ensure hospice admission nurse is aware of all details of the case. Be on Palliative Care call every morning to report and give updates on current palliative cases that they have referred to Community Hospice. Hospice/Referrals: Enable all hospice patients to have a safe discharge to their home by ordering all equipment in a timely manner, making sure they have the proper medications, ambulance transport is set and all other items that might be needed for each particular case. Follow patient home and conduct same day admission. Allowing for continuum of care if the patient needs same day admission and our admission team is not able to do the admission. Admit any GIP’s onto our service in the hospital that you are assigned to, making daily rounds and coordinating care with our IDG team and NP’s. Create a plan for discharge with hospice staff, if patient goes home. Educate all referral sources on hospice appropriate patients and need for early referrals so we can plan for same day admissions as we are already involved in the case. Report to the hospital immediately after the Palliative Care call to follow up on any new referrals and check in with all referral sources. Other services include an urgent care, clinics, pre-op clinic, imaging and physical therapy. GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES: The Nursing Technician PPOP PACU works under the direction of the Registered Nurse (RN), preforming a variety of tasks delegated by the RN in order to care for patients. The Nursing Technician completes assigned tasks and reports information about patients to the RN. The Nursing Technician assists with obtaining vitals, and other taught skills as trained by OrthoIndy. Essential Duties: Obtains and reports vital signs and fluid intake and output. Discontinues IV lines and urinary catheters as directed by the Registered Nurse and documents removal. Observes and reports patient conditions and behaviors to the Registered Nurse. Assists in the cleaning of equipment, furniture, and surfaces using appropriate aseptic technique and returns equipment to appropriate areas as needed. Restocks linens and supplies on the unit. Orders linen, café items for patient care. Performs phlebotomy as directed by the Registered Nurse. Performs Urine Pregnancy Tests, and blood sugars for patients as directed by Registered Nurses. Provides skin care as directed by the Registered Nurse. Reinforces patients and family education as directed by the Registered Nurse. Performs EKGs and bladder scans when directed by the Registered Nurse. Transports patients to other units, upon dismissal, and as necessary. Performs Cast Cutting, Ted Hose measurement and application. Requirements: High School Diploma or GED required; specialty training beyond high school preferred Valid Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) license required and 1-2 years of patient care experience, OR Nursing student with one semester of completed clinical rotations required, OR a minimum of 1-2 years direct patient care experience within a hospital setting and the flexibility to earn a C.N.A. certification within six months of start date. Job Summary Advanced Practice Provider is responsible for obtaining complete and comprehensive patient histories, performing physical examinations, writing orders, responding to patient questions, and providing information to patients and their families. Exercises judgment within their areas of competence provided that a member of the supervising physician team shall have the ultimate responsibility for patient care. Job Responsibilities Order, perform and interpret laboratory tests, diagnostic and invasive procedures as appropriate. Following physician observation and approval of technique, perform therapeutic or corrective measures as well as some outpatient family medicine procedures as needed. Refer patients to appropriate specialists, services, and community resources (i.e. physical therapy, other subspecialists and social services). Provide preventative care and counseling on health and wellness related conditions. Prescribe appropriate medications as needed. The supervising physician or physician designee reviews all patient encounters no later than (72) seventy-two hours after the APP has seen the patient. The Certified Medical Assistant assists in preparation for patient care, provides care coordination, clinical documentation, and other clinical support functions in a physician practice office setting. This position is eligible for a $5,000 retention bonus. Job Responsibilities Prepare patients for physician/provider examination and administers injections and immunizations. Performs laboratory testing, EKG's and other medical office testing and procedures. Schedules appointments, testing procedures and works both front office and clinical areas as assigned. May Perform telephone triage asking details of illness, answering questions, ensuring information is available, and reviewing phone calls with the nurse practitioner or physician as appropriate. Contribute to team building through the support of management decisions and participating in performance improvement activities. Train other Medical Assistants. Notify management of changes in workload. Complete all educational requirements. Perform other duties as assigned.
