Description Job Title - Clinical Program Manager (Nurse Practitioner) - Pediatrics Cardiology - Icahn School of Medicine - Full Time - Day The Clinical Program Manager is responsible for assuring compliance with mandated clinical orientation, competency assessment and interventions in the assigned clinical program of designated nursing staff within the Medical Center. This individual interfaces directly with MSMC Departments, Administrators, Nursing, Medical and Quality Leadership, and Clinical Staff, managing the educational and operational impact of all clinical care delivery, staff performance, and outcome measures to support clinical practice. Responsibilities Oversees clinical operations within the program, using data and fact-based problem solving techniques to improve processes and outcomes. Ensures that all clinical initiatives run according to institutional and departmental policies and in accordance with any government or regulatory requirements as applicable. Recruits, orients, trains, coaches, counsels, mentors, disciplines, and evaluates staff in accordance with all internal policies and procedures. Communicates values, strategies, and objectives of department or division on a regular basis. Assigns accountabilities, delegates tasks and responsibilities, and plans, monitors and appraises job performance. Develops, maintains and reconciles departmental budget with financial responsibility and oversight for department or division. Plans, develops, and/or maintains departmental standard operating procedures. Regularly reviews policies and procedures and makes changes, or recommends changes to superiors as necessary. In conjunction with Nursing, Medical and Quality Leadership, coordinates educational and performance improvement activities within a designated clinical specialty. Develops and designs of action plans to support clinical performance and competency and provides support and educational resources to departments and services relative to nursing care delivery within the context quality assessment and improvement processes. Establishes and implements short and long term goals, objectives, policies and operating procedures for high level of performance in nursing care delivery. Coordinates and leads in the execution of day to day educational program activities, as appropriate to program objectives and areas of clinical expertise. Oversees the collection, compilation, and analysis of clinical program activity data to evaluate clinical performance and competence. Provides technical assistance, resource services, consultation and education to clinical specialty service relative to orientation, ongoing assessment of competency and performance improvement activities. Serves as a clinical role model and resource to the nursing staff. Prepares reports and analysis associated with orientation of new hires, ongoing competency and evaluation of staff performance and identification of related outcome measures. Provides timely status reports of results of assignments including identification of patterns and trends that require actions. Collaborates with other members of the health care team in the development, implementation, and ongoing review of policies, procedures, and standards of care for designated patient populations. Demonstrates knowledge of hospital, departmental and care center standards, policies, procedures and guidelines as well as regulatory agency standards. Assures readiness for Joint Commission and other agency surveys and presents related programs during Joint Commission and other agency visits. Participates in daily activities that reflect budgetary constraints and incorporates financial principles into program development and allocation of resources. Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; benchmarking state-of-the-art practices; participating in professional societies. Participates in the performance appraisal process of designated Nursing staff. Qualifications Masters in Nursing is required. Certification in specialty area required. 5 years directly related experience (some supervisory preferred) New York State License with current registration as a registered professional nurse. Conducts regularly scheduled observations and pouring (procedures) of medication administration procedures performed by medication certified personnel. Regularly reviews procedures for medication receipt storage or accountability with Charge Nurse providing assistance in implementing corrective action as necessary. Provides direct oversight to Licensed Practical Nurse on shift, reporting problems and corrective action to Charge Nurse. In the absence of the Residential Coordinator and/or Shift Supervisor, directly supervises Direct Care staff for all individual care responsibilities. Summary The Medical Assistant is responsible for all departmental functions aligned with the mission, vision, and goals of PM Pediatrics. The Medical Assistant roles is an opportunity for a pediatric medical assistant to apply their skills in a pediatric urgent care setting and assist with primary patient care based on individual patient needs within their scope of practice under the physician’s direct supervision. This position maintains effective working relationships with all customers, including patients/families, physicians, employees, volunteers, and vendors. Description Pompton Plains, NJ is the primary office location; however, coverage at our Paramus, NJ location will be required as needed based on staffing and operational needs. Job Responsibilities: Provide clinical and administrative support for providers, patients, and office operations Greet and register patients as they arrive Obtain medical history, patient vital signs, and intake Prepare patients for X-rays Perform and document routine labs, such as throat and urine cultures (venipuncture experience preferred) Irrigate and assist with wounds Assist in performing quality control testing in the lab Be an integral part of the patient care team and assist with patient care within the scope of practice Keep exam rooms and front reception stocked with adequate supplies Maintain order and cleanliness of the waiting room area Practice standard safety practices and precautions Help patients in distress by responding to emergencies and notifying medical team (nurse, urgent care tech, and physician) Maintains operations by following policies and procedures; reporting needed changes to management team Maintains patient confidence and protects operations by keeping patient care information confidential Enhances health care practice reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and challenging requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments Assistant patients with complaints and taking an active role in service recovery when needed Perform other duties as needed including apply splints and assisting the nurse and/or provider in other medical procedures Provide exceptional customer services #LI-MO1 Qualifications High school diploma or GED Prior experience and/or education as a Medical Assistant Knowledge or EKG placement and processing in children Ability to obtain laboratory tests via nasal swab, and venipuncture Demonstrate a professional and friendly demeanor Strong communications and organizational skills Prior pediatric experience Capable of multi-tasking in a fast-paced environment Comfortable with computers, Microsoft Office Suite Willing to learn medical software Experience with medical records preferred Compensation: $18 - $26/hour The salary/rate range listed here has been provided to comply with local regulations and represents a potential base salary/rate for this role.
