Review medication record for completeness of information, accuracy in the transcription of the physician’s order, and adherence to stop order policies. Administer professional services such as: catheterization, tube feedings, suction, applying and changing dressings/bandages, packs, colostomy, and drainage bags, care of the dead/dying, etc., as required. Participate in the orientation of new customers/family members to the facility. Arrange for diagnostic and therapeutic services, as ordered by the physician. Notify the customer’s attending physician and family when there is a change in the customer’s conditions. Obtain sputum, urine and other lab tests as ordered. Take and record TPR’s, blood pressures, accuchecks, etc., as necessary. Contact the customer’s physician for: Nursing assessment of change of condition. Medication orders or charges. To inform of incidents. To report abnormal results of Lab and X-ray. Anything else pertinent to the customers’ care and well-being. The nurse uses sound clinical judgment and adaptability to assess, plan, implement, evaluate, and document individualized care for patients of all ages. The OnDemand RN is highly knowledgeable, autonomous professional who demonstrates flexibility and adaptability, seamlessly working across the OSF Ministry to meet patient and organizational needs. The OnDemand registered nurse requires advanced clinical competence, informal leadership capability, and the ability to provide safe, compassionate, and high-quality care to patients across the care continuum in diverse environments. The OnDemand RN will travel between multiple OSF facilities based on staffing and patient needs. Qualifications REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Education: Associate degree in nursing. Experience: 1 year of nursing experience in an acute healthcare setting within the specialty hired. Licensure/ Certification: Reg Nurse License in the state of Illinois. Basic Life Support certification (BLS) through the American Heart Association. Advanced Care Life Support certification (ACLS) through the American Heart Association (required for applicable specialties). Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) through the American Heart Association (required for applicable specialties). Other Skills/ Knowledge: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to work maintain flexibility in work and schedule. Strong clinical judgment and autonomous decision-making ability. Advanced assessment, analytical, and problem solving skills with strong attention to detail. Ability to manage complex patient populations across the care continuum. Strong computer proficiency, including Microsoft applications. Strong teamwork and collaboration skills. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Education: Bachelor’s degree in nursing (BSN) or completion within two years of hire. Experience: 2 years of nursing experience in an acute healthcare setting within the specialty hired. Participation in Clinical Ladder strongly encouraged.
