In This Role, You Will: Cover inpatient ICU and step-down units as well as outpatient clinic Provide care to patients with cardiac conditions, ranging from the routine to the complex (such as end-stage heart failure and transplant). Our specialists provide comprehensive surgical expertise. Valve repair for aortic and mitral valve pathology is commonly performed, employing innovative techniques of leaflet excision, chordal replacement, annuloplasty, and valve resuspension. Provide and coordinate surgical care for adults with selected cardiothoracic diseases throughout the course of evaluation and treatment, including hospital admission, surgical intervention, inpatient care, consultations, and discharge planning. This includes clinic follow-up, providing information to referring physicians and institutions, and patient /family education. Provide and coordinate continuity of care between the hospital floor setting, operating room, and clinic. This individual must show commitment to exemplary patient care. Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist. Current licensure as an APRN (Advanced Practice Registered Nurse) in the State of Minnesota. Current American Heart Association (AHA) BLS Healthcare Provider card required per established policy. Successful completion of medical staff office credentialing must be completed prior to working without a preceptor. Successful completion of third-party payer credentialing must be completed prior to billing for services Preferred: Knowledge of growth and development principles over the entire life span of the patient population to include neonate to geriatric. Ability to observe, assess, and interpret patient age specific data, reaction, treatments, progress, and outcomes. Knowledge of current anesthesia principles and practices, agents, equipment, devices, and techniques. Knowledge of emergency medical procedures Ability to communicate effectively with other professionals and the general public. Department Information: The Anesthesiology Department includes 9 CRNAs and 2 MDs providing services in both the hospital and Ambulatory Surgery Center. The team manages a broad range of cases, including peds, OB, ENT, general, robotic, ortho, GYN, urology, podiatry, endoscopy, epidurals, and pain blocks. Using a combination of medical direction and CRNA-only models, CRNAs average approximately 10 cases per day at the surgery center and 4 per day in the hospital. The department utilizes the Epic EMR system to support clinical documentation and care coordination.
