Prepare residents for each meal and transport to dining room (unless a bed patient) making sure that food tray is accessible, self-help devices are available (if needed), and assistance is provided to those residents who cannot feed themselves. Keep an accurate record of food intake and output, as directed. Be alert for proper ventilation, temperature, light and noise control. Take TPR (temperature, pulse, & rate), blood pressure, weighing of residents, etc., as directed. Requirements/Qualifications of Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA): Current Nursing Assistant certification from New York. Current/active CPR certification, preferred. The Nursing Assistant assists the nurse in providing patient care in accordance with Hospital policies and procedures.Assist patients with Activities of Daily Living which promote general comfort, well being, and safety. Assists in receiving and transporting patients. Participates in the observation of patient conditions and promptly reports changes to the primary nurse. Documents patient care or unit tasks in electronic medical records as per policy. Responds promptly to the needs of patient, communicates patient/family requests, or concerns appropriately and immediately. Demonstrates competency care procedures (foley catheter, enemas, vital signs, etc.) Qualifications 1 – 2 years experience as Nursing Assistant preferred. High School Diploma or equivalent required. Current CPR certification required.
