Job Details Our Assistant Nurse Manager for the Cath Lab will: Provide leadership and direction in accordance with department goals and policies. Participate in the completion of performance evaluations for Nursing and Support staff. Assist Nurse Manager in planning, projecting and monitoring staffing needs based on unit census, acuity and skill mix. Be responsible for safe patient assignment based on the nursing department’s delivery model of care including matching patient needs to staff’s competency. Delegate tasks to the appropriate personnel while retaining responsibility and accountability. Be responsible for the health and safety of patients and employees. Assist Nurse Manager in ensuring unit participation and staff knowledge of all emergency procedures and drills. Ensure that personnel and equipment are in constant readiness to respond to patient emergencies. Retain ownership of all department and unit-based performance improvement data and activities. Share knowledge and expertise through mentoring, huddles and/or staff meetings. Maintain professional competency and seek opportunity for self-growth. Supervise and check the work of staff. Support administrative decision and changes within the department. Practice regular hand hygiene and comply with standard and transmission-based precautions as applicable.
