Full time, 36 or 40 hours per week Part time, less than 36 hours per week Per Diem (if available), minimum of 2 shifts/month Holiday and weekend requirements per unit and company policies JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES Registered Nurse Demonstrates competency in the assessment, range of treatment, knowledge of growth and development and communication appropriate to the age of the patient treated. Demonstrates accountability for initiating and maintaining the multi-disciplinary treatment plans, assuring that all elements are reviewed and revised as required. Assesses patient/family learning needs and provides and documents interventions by utilizing a variety of therapeutic programming modalities. Demonstrates appropriate knowledge base of psychopharmacology. Demonstrates appropriate skill as a member of the Control Team. Directly supervises and is accountable for the care provided by the Behavioral Health Technicians and all other ancillary staff. Keeps current with professional literature and trends in mental health and substance use disorders through Network and external educational opportunities. Maintains confidentiality of all materials handled within the Network/ Entity as well as the proper release of information. Complies with Network and departmental policies regarding attendance and dress code. Provides individual assistance with clients who are experiencing medical or mental health symptoms, in addition to the dependence Contributes knowledge of clinical and programmatic needs of client as it relates to clinical knowledge base. Demonstrates/models the Network’s Service Excellence Standards of Performance in interactions with all customers (internal and external). TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE: RN: Previous psychiatric, substance use or rehab, medical, and/or geriatric nursing experience preferred. ANCC certification in Psychiatric and Mental Health nursing preferred. BLS certification required within 60 days of hire. Designated department safety training within 90 days of hire. EDUCATION: Registered Nurse with current license to practice in the State of Pennsylvania. PHYSICAL AND SENSORY REQUIREMENTS: Sit up to 2 hours per day; 1 hour at a time. Stand for up to 10 hours per day; 8 hours at a time. Walk 6 hours per day; 10 minutes at a time. Consistently lift, carry and push objects up to 10 lbs. Occasionally lift, carry and push objects up to 75 lbs. Transports patients weighing up to 500 lbs. via wheelchair, bed and/or stretcher. Frequently stoop and bend. Frequently reach above should level. Must be able to perceive attributes of an object through touch. Must be able to hear as it relates to normal conversation and high and low frequencies. The Clinical Nurse 1 New to Practice/Apprentice is accountable for the provision of direct care to patients who may range in age from infancy to the elderly and demonstrates within the competency domains of Continuous Quality Improvement, Evidence Based Practice and Research, Leadership, Person and Family Centered Care, Professionalism, Safety, Teamwork and Technology/Informatics. The Clinical Nurse 1 New to Practice/Apprentice works closely with the interprofessional health care team to facilitate the coordination of care across the continuum. Responsibilities: Minimum Required Qualifications: RN Licensure is required, issued by the PA Board of Nursing or a Temporary Practice Permit until an RN license is obtained. Individuals with Temporary Practice Permits must sit for their NCLEX within 60 days of starting in their RN role. Bachelor of Science in Nursing BSN preferred. For Magnet designated RN positions, BSN or higher level nursing degree is required for incumbents based upon previously established parameters; or within three 3 years of placement in position for incumbents who started after 07 01 2020. A graduate registered nurse may only practice professional nursing under supervision and if the graduate registered nurse holds a current temporary practice permit. Supervision means that a licensed registered nurse is physically present in the area or unit where the graduate registered nurse is practicing. All Clinical Nurse 1 RN’s will be required to successfully complete the Nurse Residency Program. CPR Certification - American Heart Association AHA Basic Life Support, formerly Healthcare Provider AHA Heart Saver AMA CPR BLS certification required within 30 days of hire. A health care provider in good standing with Medicare, Medicaid, and other federal and state health insurance programs, i.e.not excluded from participation in Medicare, Medicaid or any other federal or state health insurance program. The LPN provides direct nursing care to home health or hospice patients within the scope of practice for LPNs. The individual will follow the Plan of Care (POC) established by the RN and the Interdisciplinary Team for patients. This position must be able to see patients in the various geographic areas PMAH serves as determined by agency contracts. Responsibilities: Provides home health or hospice services to patients through regularly scheduled home visits. Follows established Plan of Care (POC) developed by the RN and understand the process for changing the POC according to the patient and family needs. Performs approved nursing procedures and treatments within the LPN scope of practice. Follows appropriate preventative and palliative nursing procedures according to the Nurse Practice Act for LPNs.
