Additionally, we provide care for patients undergoing pre- and post-cardiac catheterization, electrophysiology studies, and other minimally invasive cardiac procedures. These areas serve outpatient and inpatient patients who require procedures that require medical imaging to help diagnosis and treat certain problems. They see infants and adults. There are two sides to this. One group of nurses prepare and recover the patient following the procedure, while another group of nurses is in the rooms with the interventional radiologists and others to assist with the procedures. Some of these nurses do go over to MD Anderson for Radiologic cases scheduled over there.
