The Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner is an individual with hands-on experience and knowledge regarding the nature and treatment of alcoholism and drug addiction. The Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner is responsible for providing direct clinical services to patients and provides consultation related to chemical dependency. The Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner's primary role in the Behavioral Health Department is to provide psychiatric evaluations, consultations in the Emergency Department and on the patient floors. Minimum Qualifications Education: Advanced Practice Nursing Degree from an accredited school with specialization in psychiatric/mental health nursing required. Experience: Previous experience required as a psychiatric nurse practitioner preferably in an inpatient setting. Licensure and/or Certification: Current license as a Nurse Practitioner in Massachusetts required National certification as a Nurse Practitioner required (this is required for Massachusetts licensure).
