UPMC is hiring a flex full-time Professional Staff Nurse to join their East Side Surgery Center Pre-Op/PACU team! East Side Surgery Center is a 4-OR outpatient surgery center that offers services including urology, ophthalmology, ortho, and plastics. Graduate nurses must complete licensure examination within SIX MONTHS of hire or within one year of graduation, whichever comes first. Though temporary permits are valid for one year from the date of graduation, not one year from issue of permit (or until the results of the examination are known at which time it becomes null and void), UPMC requires that GNs take the licensure examination within 6 months of their start date or they will be terminated or demoted from the GN position, at the discretion of the BU. Duties not mentioned here, but considered related are not essential functions. Job Qualification Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing. Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing, preferred. Must be enrolled in an accredited BSN program within two (2) years and obtain a BSN Degree within five (5) years of job entry date. Current License to practice as a Registered Professional Nurse in New York State required, plus specialized certifications as needed. 2+ years of ICU or PACU experience, strongly preferred.
