The Nurse Manager provides day-to-day leadership for the Pediatric Hematology/Oncology Unit and Bone Marrow Transplant Unit , ensuring the delivery of safe, high-quality, patient-centered care. Establish clinical direction for nursing care delivery, provide clinical supervision and maintain quality outcomes. Collaborate with liaison departments in maintaining patient care standards, identify and resolve issues affecting the delivery of patient care services in a unit. Develop quality initiatives and implement policies and procedures to ensure efficient and effective delivery of health services in a unit. Develop and maintain unit-related patient care standards through continuous quality improvement. Maintain JCAHO and other regulatory standards. Manage operation of unit. Analyze personnel structure and determine staffing needs and mix. Provide direction and supervision, evaluate performance, conduct selection and termination processes, and develop strategic plans. Actively promote staff and self-development. Participate in clinical nursing research and supports foundation research activities. Direct unit participation in evaluation of new products. Approve purchases and establish or revise inventory quotes. Assist in the development and monitoring of the budget . Other duties as assigned.
