Registered Nurse - Pediatric Electrophysiology (BCH-Cross Bay)

Job Description Under general supervision, guided by the policies and procedures of the Medical Center and Ambulatory Services, and in collaboration with providers and administrative management, the Nurse Care Coordinator for Pediatric Electrophysiology works autonomously, utilizing the nursing process, to assess, plan, coordinate, implement and evaluate patient care within the ambulatory, procedural, and inpatient settings. This clinician is experienced and highly skilled with an in-depth knowledge and expertise in electrophysiology studies, CIED implantation, CIED interrogation, CIED remote monitoring, and inpatient bedside EP procedures. In the ambulatory setting, the Nurse Care Coordinator for Pediatric Electrophysiology is responsible for coordinating outpatient services and needs for a panel of pediatric, adolescent, and young adult patients and providers. His/her responsibilities include independent CIED (cardiac implantable electronic device) interrogation in clinic. Reviewing, interpreting and triaging CIED remote monitoring. Educating patients and families on CIED care and remote monitoring results. Supports cardiology fellows and nursing colleagues with CIED education and lectures on interpretation of CIED interrogation results. Provides rhythm teaching to patients and families. Participates in QI projects to improve safety and quality of patient outcomes. In the inpatient setting, the Nurse Care Coordinator for Pediatric Electrophysiology will act as a liaison to ensure continuity of care for patients and their families who have undergone EP procedures including EP studies and CIED implants. Responsibilities include running the GE systems during EP procedures, including supporting physicians with pacing and waveform interpretation. Assisting physicians for CIED implantation, and inpatient EP bedside procedures. The Nurse Care Coordinator will collaborate with the inpatient nursing and provider teams to assist with patient and family education as well as complex care coordination and management, including comprehensive CIED care and management. The Nurse Care Coordinator for Pediatric Electrophysiology must have the ability to perform and prioritize multiple tasks and work well with staff, patients, families, and providers. The fast-paced, 16-bed General Pediatrics observation unit primarily cares for patients from the Emergency Room who require a 24- to 72-hour admission for bronchiolitis/RSV, asthma, BRUE, common childhood infections, infant fevers, failure to thrive, constipation/dehydration, and hyperbilirubinemia. Specialty populations include post-operative patients recovering from arm/leg fractures, cholecystectomy, appendectomy, tonsillectomy/adenoidectomy, and urology procedures. This multidisciplinary team—including nurses, attendings, social workers, case managers, respiratory therapists, and Child Life specialists—partners on care management, nursing interventions, and discharge planning. The patient to RN ratio is typically 4:1. A Clinical Nurse in the Seasonal Staffing Program performs Nursing duties, as assigned, throughout certain times of the year in which CHOP's operational needs require additional Nursing staff due to high volumes and acuity ("Concentrated Period"), and flex down to no, or limited, scheduled shifts during other times of the year ("Quiet Period"). Although the Concentrated and Quiet Periods will depend upon operational need, the anticipated Concentrated Period will be from September through May, with a Quiet Period from June through August. Registered Nurse, PICU

Job Description The PICU is seeking a Registered Nurse to join our team in Wilmington, DE. The Pediatric Intensive Care Unit of Nemours Children's Health, Delaware is a 24-bed unit in a Level 1 Trauma Center. Patients requiring care and surveillance in the PICU will have conditions and diagnoses which may include, but are not limited to, those producing: acute and reversible loss of consciousness, respiratory failure, compromised air exchange, cardiovascular dysfunction, hepatic failure, hemodynamic instability, renal dysfunction, central nervous system injury or dysfunction, acute trauma and organ failure requiring transplantation. Treatments or interventions performed in the PICU include measures utilizing advanced life support technology. These include, but are not limited to cardiopulmonary resuscitation, tracheal intubation, ECMO, pharmacologic support of circulation, mechanical ventilation, point of care monitoring, CRRT, thoracentesis, and hemodynamic, intracranial pressure, intravascular monitoring. Each patient room has electrocardiographic, pulse oximetry, respiratory, hemodynamic and intracranial pressure monitoring capability, as well as central EKG and respiratory monitoring. Portable monitoring during patient transport is provided. Special equipment includes radiant warmer beds, heating/cooling blanket systems, Mapleson manual ventilation system, end tidal CO2 monitors, ventilators, hemodynamic monitoring systems, intracranial pressure monitoring system, ventriculostomy systems, infusion pumps, blood warmer, continuous renal replacement systems, and peripheral nerve stimulators. Requirements Be a graduate of an accredited school of nursing; BSN preferred. Experienced pediatric intensive care nurse of at least 2 years preferred. Current Delaware or Multistate Compact License Must be CPR certified by the American Heart Association. PALS and ACLS preferred.
