Qualifications Education Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred Licensure & Certifications Current Florida Registered Nurse (RN) License Basic Life Support (BLS) certification NIH Stroke Scale Certification Special Skills/Qualifications/Additional Training/Experience Required -Previous acute care hospital experience is strongly preferred. -New graduate nurses may be considered based on current unit needs and the availability of experienced preceptors and onboarding resources. -Strong clinical assessment, critical thinking, and decision-making skills. -Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities. -Candidates should demonstrate adaptability, strong critical thinking skills, and the ability to manage multiple patients in a dynamic environment. -A stable employment history is preferred. Candidates who have demonstrated commitment and longevity in prior roles are generally more likely to be successful long-term members of the team. -Candidates with frequent job changes over a short period may require further discussion regarding career goals and reasons for transitioning. -Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative healthcare environment. Additional Considerations: Experience limited to long-term care, skilled nursing, or nursing home settings may not fully prepare candidates for the pace and complexity of an acute care medical unit.
