Organization: NICU Cohort 12 Job Summary: The NICU Chronic Complex Care Unit allows you to be a part of providing exceptional care to our most fragile babies. This is a 15-bed technology dependent NICU unit in which you would work as a team to provide specialized family centered care to former pre-term infants that are less than 2 years old who require chronic airway or respiratory support in a compassionate and caring manner. This is a high acuity unit where you may manage several drips. Also, infants may have BPD, pulmonary hypertension, and/or congenital malformations of the large airways of the lungs. Our NICU was founded in 1961 by Mildred Stahlman, MD, the Vanderbilt NICU was one of the first specialized hospital programs in the world created exclusively for the care of preterm infants. Vanderbilt has remained at the forefront of medical care for babies needing intensive care ever since. We are a level IV tertiary care NICU that attends to the complex care needs of more than 1400 fragile newborns per year. JOB DESCRIPTION " POSITION SUMMARY The Cardiac nurse navigator provides a personalized level of support to help patients, families, and caregivers navigate the system of care, at all levels of care, and assists them in maximizing their care.
