Patient centered care principles and professional nursing practice standards provide the foundation for the nurse to assess, plan, implement and evaluate the care provided. The staff nurse assumes the primary responsibility and accountability for all patient care personally provided and that provided by those directly under her/his supervision. Essential Job Functions Utilizes appropriate assessment skills to determine patient needs. Develops a plan of care for those patients whose needs do not require the expertise of a Case Manager or collaborates with the Case Manager to develop a plan of care for specified patients. Manager or collaborates with the Case Manager to develop a plan of care for specified patients. Assumes charge nurse responsibilities as assigned by Care Center Director or Patient Care Manager. Provides support to peers by assisting as needed, being a resource person and working as a team member. Assists Care Center in development/attainment of goals and objectives. Uses clinical pathways and/or plans of care incorporating standards of practice. Assesses own need for professional growth and development and seeks appropriate resources to meeting needs. Attends continuing education programs and participates in program evaluation. Required Qualifications Graduate of an NLN accredited School of Nursing Associate Degree in Nursing Associate Degree Nurses are required to enroll in a BSN program within six (6) to nine (9) months of hire, and make progress toward and complete their BSN degree within 30 months.
