A Brief Overview Responsible for assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of direct care to assigned patients with simple to complex health care needs in inpatient, outpatient and procedural areas. Works in an environment requiring continual response to dynamic patient acuity changes with rapidly changing nursing care responsibilities. What You Will Do Delivers patient care in accordance with the ANA Scope and Standards of Care and Practice, Patient Bill of Rights and the ANA Code of Ethics for Nurses. Delivers patient care in accordance with specialty specific standards (e.g. Oncology Nurses Association, American Association of Critical Care Nurses) as appropriate Assesses, plans, implements and evaluates the patient plan of care according to changing health care needs. Assesses, plans, implements and evaluates patient teaching using appropriate education resources and evaluates the effectiveness of the teaching. Models effective leadership skills through role modeling, mentoring and effective communication. Assumes charge nurse responsibilities as assigned. Directly delegates and supervises the practice of ancillary staff (LPN’s, PCA’s, Tech’s, Unit Secretaries, etc.) and is knowledgeable of the tenets of the NJ Scope of Practice guidelines. Supports a professional practice environment by functioning as a role model and resource person and also functions as a preceptor for nursing staff and participates in the orientation of other unit employees. Participates in unit-based and organization-wide activities, committees and community activities as appropriate Identifies own learning needs with respect to nursing practice and pursues educational support to meet these needs. Routinely utilizes Evidence Based Practice literature, policy and procedure manuals and other available reference materials to ensure consistency and accuracy in the delivery of care. Participates actively in the Performance Improvement process to evaluate the quality of nursing care delivered to patients Education Qualifications Graduate of an accredited school of nursing required Bachelor's Degree BSN preferred Experience Qualifications Minimum one-year current clinical experience required Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities Excellent clinical assessment skills, communication skills, and time management skills. Job Description Balance Life & Work with a New Career Opportunity at (CENTER or BUILDING) (LONG TERM CARE) (SHORT TERM REHAB) (SKILLED NURSING) Now Hiring – Infection Control Nurse – Paramus, NJ Salary Range: $100,000 - $105,000 per year CareOne at Ridgewood Avenue The primary purpose of the Infection Control Nurse is to plan, organize, develop, coordinate, and direct our infection control program and its activities in accordance with current federal, state, and local standards, guidelines, and regulations that govern such programs, and as may be directed by the Administrator and the Infection Control Committee to ensure that an effective infection control program is maintained at all times. Ensure that the facility is in compliance with current CDC, OSHA, and local regulations concerning infection control or standard/universal precautions. Develop, maintain, and periodically update infection control precautions and aseptic technique that successfully correct problem areas. Interpret infection control policies and procedures as necessary. Monitor infection control practices and procedures to ensure that all personnel are implementing our standard operating procedures for tasks involving exposure to blood/body fluids. Make rounds to nursing units for the purpose of case findings, review of environmental sanitation procedures, and supervisions of isolation precautions/practice. Visit isolated residents as necessary to ensure that established isolation precautions and aseptic technique are followed. Provide direct nursing care as necessary. Education Must possess, as a minimum, a nursing degree from an accredited school of nursing. Experience Must have, as a minimum, two (2) years clinical experience in a hospital, nursing care facility or other related healthcare facility. Must have, as a minimum, six (6) months training experience in rehabilitative and restorative nursing practices. Must possess as working knowledge of epidemiology, microbiology, infectious diseases, and aseptic technique to include standard/universal precautions.
