All RN staff who have direct responsibility for the care of stroke patients must have knowledge of: • Stroke symptoms and warning signs • Protocols and pathways used to identify, evaluate and management of stroke patients • NIHSS • Stroke Alert activation and protocol • Stroke quality indicators • Available stroke patient education materials and community resources • Educational requirements • Stroke Center website resources ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Oversees the staff and ensure adequate patient care, inclusive of hiring/onboarding, evaluating, managing performance, coaching, and developing employees ensuring employee productivity, quality of work, and alignment of goals with our mission, vision, and values. Establishes a care plan or contributes to an existing plan, including administering medication, checking of dosages, and avoiding interactions; starting, maintaining, and discontinuing intravenous (IV) lines for fluid, medication, blood, and blood products; administering therapies and treatments; observing the patient and recording those observations; and consulting with physicians and other healthcare clinicians. Ensure compliance with all policies, financial stewardship by being accountable for the financial integrity around development and maintenance of department budget. Serves as a resource to others, including staff, patients, families, caregivers, physicians, and visitors to improve the patients experience, clinical outcomes and promote a healthy work environment. Teaches patients and their families how to manage their illnesses or injuries, explain post-treatment and home care needs; diet, nutrition, and exercise programs; and self-administration of medication and therapy. Facilitates inter/intra departmental collaboration, communications and promotes problem solving. Participates in policy revisions and committees applicable to department. Participates in the creation, implementation, and follow-up of goals and action planning related to unit. Contributes to the recruitment and retention of talented staff through positive role-modeling, fostering peer relationships, staff education, and participating in preceptor and/or mentor programs thereby creating an environment for quality practice. Coordinates educational and professional activities as they relate to department/unit needs. Regularly rounds with physicians, patients, or families to facilitate quality practice and improve the patient experience. Utilizes the nursing process and evidence-based practice to provide patient care and evaluate the patient’s plan of care. Weekend Registered Nurse Supervisor

Hudson Pointe at Riverdale Center for Rehabilitation & Nursing is currently seeking a Full-Time RN Supervisor for Weekend evening (3pm-11pm) shift to join our dynamic organization. OVERVIEW: Under the leadership of the Director of Nursing, supervises the nursing personnel ant the day – to –day nursing activities of the facility RESPONSIBILITIES: · Coordinate and provide total nursing care for patients · Assess resident condition and nursing needs, sets goals, prescribe appropriate actions to meet goals and the age-related, physical, psychological, social, and rehabilitative needs of the resident · Assign care to team members in accordance with the resident’s needs and the personnel’s capabilities and qualifications · Assess and evaluate patient’s response to care plan and prioritize and implement appropriate changes to plan · Collaborate, assess, and coordinate discharge planning needs with other health care team members Oversees clinical and nonclinical acute hospital operations and continuum of REQUIREMENTS: · Valid Registered Nurse License in the State of New York · CPR/BLS certified · Bachelor’s degree in nursing(BSN) · 5+ years nursing experience in a nursing home or other healthcare setting and a minimum 1-year experience as a nurse supervisor
