Provides recommendations related to interviewing, selecting, and training new staff. Recommends and implements courses of action, including training and development, conflict resolution, personnel policy compliance, completion of performance evaluations, and/or disciplinary actions to ensure a competitively better organization. Assists with staff scheduling. Manages all practical aspects of staff labor in accordance with patient care needs and established productivity guidelines. Supports proper inventory control and assists with managing supplies and equipment. We provide Level II Maternal Specialty care and deliver approximately 1,750 babies each year under the care of our OB/GYN physician teams from three local clinics. Our Women’s & Infants’ team is supported by a full-time W&I Licensed Social Worker, Inpatient and Outpatient Lactation Support Services and a Women’s Center Outreach team. The Labor & Delivery Registered Nurse (RN) will assume responsibility and accountability for care of the antepartum, intrapartum and postpartum obstetrical patients and their well newborn infants. The L&D RN also performs screening and outpatient care for OB Triage patients along with care to women during their post-partum recovery following vaginal or cesarean delivery. The L&D RN is cross-trained to Mother/Baby care.
