Common diagnoses treated on the unit include Leukemia, Lymphoma, Solid Organ Tumors, Neuro Oncology disease processes which may result in Stem Cell Transplant. The Clinical Nurse practices at the level of an advanced beginner to expert practitioner of professional nursing in accordance with, and guided by the CHOP Nursing Professional Practice Model. The nurse at this level demonstrates competence in caring for patients and families and progresses to caring for those with the most complex problems/highest acuity in the designated clinical area. Job Description Summary: Emphasizes health promotion and disease prevention as they assist patients and families to move rapidly, uneventfully, safely, and as effectively as possible through their episode of care. Delegates, oversees and provides quality, safe and developmentally appropriate patient care. Job Description: Essential Functions: Provides nursing care using a Family Centered approach. Assesses individualized patient needs and plans, implements, educates and evaluates care using Evidence-Based Practices. Ensures clinic processes and workflows comply with regulatory and policy compliance. Works closely with providers and other team members to ensure a smooth clinic flow addressing patient/parent concerns and attaining positive patient and family outcomes. Documents according to organizational standards, policies, and procedures. Engages in the “workplace community” by staying aware of changes, participating in data collection or auditing, understanding Quality Improvement, and representing staff at relevant meetings and then reporting important information and updates back to staff. Education Requirement: Graduation from an ACEN or CCNE accredited school, required. Bachelor's Degree in Nursing, preferred. Must successfully complete BSN within 5 years of start date. Licensure Requirement: Licensed as a Registered Nurse in the State of Ohio, required. Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association, required Experience: Three years of pediatric clinical experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience, preferred.
