Provides and documents patient care under the direction and supervision of the Assistant Nurse Manager/Nurse Manager. QUALIFICATIONS Education: Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing required. 4 Year/Bachelor’s Degree preferred. Experience: 1 year of relevant experience preferred. Refer to the Life Support Training Policy for additional details. Licensure: Current RN licensure in applicable state required. CPI certification within three months of hire required for Behavioral Health, Emergency Department, and Central Staffing and Scheduling Office (CSSO). If your RN nursing license has been inactive, retired or lapsed for five years or more and you have not been licensed in another state during the last five years, successful completion of a Board approved refresher course is required prior to reactivating or reinstating your license. In order to be considered for current licensure status, you must apply for reinstatement within one year of completing the refresher course. Administers and evaluates medication therapies, performs patient transfers, and transports patients via wheelchair, hospital bed, or stretcher to other departments. Job Description The Registered Nurse in the Sexual Health Center provides direct patient care, coordinates treatment plans, collaborates with interdisciplinary teams to ensure quality outcomes, maintains clinical documentation, adheres to safety protocols, and supports patient education and advocacy. The CNL provides insight regarding the microsystem for collaboration with the Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) on macrosystem processes and outcomes. The clinical nurse is a competent practitioner who integrates theoretical knowledge with clinical experience in the care of patients and families. Care is delivered using a deliberate, systematic approach and practices are guided by increasing awareness of patterns of patient responses in recurrent situations. These nurses demonstrate mastery of most technical skills, and begin to view clinical situations from a patient and family focus as they provide professional nursing care within clinical areas/campuses as required by staffing matrices. These nurses also supervise and direct delegated nursing acts commensurate with educational preparation and demonstrated abilities of the person supervised. What You Will Need: Associates degree of nursing is required. OVERVIEW The nurse provides safe, organized care by assessing patients, giving medications and treatments, creating care plans, and keeping accurate records. They also work with doctors, families, and other healthcare team members to meet patients’ needs, improve care, and handle safety concerns. SCHEDULE: 36-hours per week SHIFT: Days ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Utilizes the nursing process and collaborates with interdisciplinary team members in caring for patients. Administers prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with approved nursing techniques, policies and procedures, standards of care, and State laws practice act. Documents according to standards of care. Performs assessments, planning, intervention, and evaluation of care. Develops, initiates, and executes a patient plan of care according to the individualized needs of the patient, as prescribed by Physician and or clinic policy including patient and family instruction. Participates in department or unit performance improvement activities, may include shared governance. Utilizes clinical expertise and guidance to other units’ departments in support of the patient’s longitudinal plan of care. Utilizes critical thinking regarding patient safety and patient experience and appropriately escalates to the appropriate chain of command. Participates in the professional nursing continuum process, unit practice activities and decisions and peer review process. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE Graduate of an accredited nursing program. ADN required upon hire, BSN preferred. May require specific years of applicable experience to qualify (per department guidelines) CERTIFICATION AND LICENSURE Licensed as an RN in state of practice Approved CPR/BLS certification required within 90 days Other certification(s) per unit requirements. For example : ACLS, PALS, PEARS, and NRP ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS Passing the Driver’s License Check and or Credit Check (for those positions requiring). Passing the WI Caregiver Background Check and or IL Health Care Workers Background Check. Must be able to follow written or oral instructions.
