Traveling Nurse Practitioner – Internal Medicine We are seeking a Traveling Nurse Practitioner to provide interim clinical coverage across multiple facilities. This role will support sites experiencing temporary provider absences, leaves, or urgent staffing needs. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of long-term care (LTC) dynamics and be able to integrate quickly into new environments while maintaining high standards of care. Exceptional communication and relationship-building skills are essential for establishing rapport with facility leadership and interdisciplinary team members. Additional responsibilities may include training new providers and assisting in the onboarding of new facility accounts prior to a permanent Trio provider starting. Overview The Advanced Practice Provider (Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant) in Cardiovascular Surgery plays an integral role in the comprehensive care of adult cardiothoracic surgical patients. This provider works collaboratively with surgeons, anesthesiologists, intensivists, nursing staff, and multidisciplinary teams to deliver high‑quality perioperative care. Responsibilities include inpatient rounding, first assisting in the operating room, managing pre‑ and postoperative patients, and participating in call coverage. Overview: Serve as first assist in cardiovascular surgical procedures, including CABG, valve surgery, aortic procedures, and other cardiothoracic operations. Perform surgical tasks such as vein harvesting, suturing, retraction, cannulation assistance, and hemostasis. Support preoperative preparation and postoperative handoff to ICU teams. Perform daily rounds on postoperative and step‑down patients. Manage routine and complex postoperative issues, including hemodynamic monitoring, chest tube management, wound care, and medication adjustments. Order and interpret diagnostic tests, labs, imaging, and consults. Coordinate patient care with nursing, case management, rehabilitation, and other specialties.
