Employment Type: Part time Shift: Evening Shift Description: Mother Baby Unit East Tower, 2nd floor This unit has 40 private rooms for both high risk and low risk postpartum patients, post-operative surgery and medical patients. As part of MercyOne Children’s Hospital the unit also has a newborn nursery. Nursing and medical providers work together as a team to deliver care for the newborn, mother as well as medical patients. POSITION PURPOSE Acts as a clinical/educational resource to patient care activities/teaching programs within the area of defined specialization. Supports patient/family/unit needs of diverse ages. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Knows, understands, incorporates, and demonstrates the Trinity Health Mission, Vision, and Values in behaviors, practices, and decisions. Identifies educational needs, develops program(s) to meet those needs, and coordinates implementation of the program(s). Evaluates programs and modifies as indicated. Serves as a resource in area of specialty and collaborates with other disciplines. Provides consultation in specialty areas to all levels of health care providers throughout the hospital, affiliated schools of nursing, and the community.
