Registered Nurse (RN) Spine Center 0.90 FTE, 72 hours per pay period Days, Hours between 7:30 am - 5 pm Weekends: No Weekends Holidays: No Holidays *Starting Pay Between $30.36 - $37.95 Based on Experience Position Overview: The Clinic Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for the care of clinic patients. The Clinic RN is skilled in all aspects of nursing process, delegates, and supervises staff in assistive roles on the same shift and is responsible to deliver the highest of customer service standards for patients and families presenting for services at Winona Health. The Clinic RN will assess and triage patients to make certain of the appropriateness of care. Will provide patient care including but not limited to rooming of patients, performing assessments and gathering of data for the physician. Patient information will be entered into the Electronic Medical Record (EMR). Direct patient care will include but is not limited to taking vital signs, medication administration, treatments, intravenous therapy, monitoring of patients, scheduling and coordination of care for referral to specialty care and general assistance to the provider as needed. Other responsibilities include assisting with procedures. Must be able to assist at all Winona Health Clinic locations if necessary. Essential Duties & Responsibilities: Specific to Spine Center RN: Oversee LPNs/CMAs and other ancillary staff in compliance with the Nurse Practice Act. Monitor for changes in neurological status. Comprehensive assessment of patients. Triage presenting patients for appropriateness of care. Assess pain levels and symptoms related to spine or nerve conditions. Obtain vital signs and history related to neurological complaints. Implement protocols/orders after appropriate assessments. Provide preoperative teaching on what to expect before, during, and after surgery. Coordinate imaging studies (CT, MRI) and lab work. Entering all applicable data into the EMR (Cerner). Contact patients with lab results and medication changes as ordered by the physician/provider. Coordinate schedules, procedures, and supplies. Coordinate and schedule care for patients referred for specialty care. Scheduling of surgery or diagnostic studies. Coordinate nurse schedule with physician schedule in clinic and/or operating room (OR). Ensuring nursing supplies and medications are properly ordered and available. Other job duties as assigned. Duties Description POSITION DESCRIPTION: Under the general direction of a higher-level registered nurse or licensed health care provider, independently provides direct nursing care to individuals in accordance with Article 139 of the Education Law; supervises nursing care activities; and provides clinical supervision and training to Graduate Nurses, Licensed Practical Nurses, and direct care staff. PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Conducts nursing assessments; and obtains, records, and updates individuals’ health information and vital signs, using standard instruments and procedures. Prepares, implements, and modifies nursing care plans; prepares individuals for and/or assists with examinations and treatments; and administers medications and nursing procedures to individuals, as prescribed. Observes, monitors, and records individuals’ symptoms, conditions, and care, including diet and physical activity; and identifies and reports individuals’ responses to medication or changes in health status.
