Provides specialized knowledge and skills to meet the physical, emotional, and spiritual needs of patients undergoing procedures. Operates and monitors specialized equipment pertinent to the unit. Collaborates with members of the units and multidisciplinary teams in assessing, planning, and implementing intervention in the management of patient’s health care. Provides intravenous and respiratory therapy for patients as indicated by circumstances and needs, following protocol. Utilizes Standards of Care to develop, implement, evaluate, and revise an appropriate problem oriented nursing plan of care for the patient and management of the unit. Monitors supplies and instruments to assure sterility of materials used furthering Quality Assurance of patient care. Participates as a member of hospital committees relative to patient care. Participates in planning and conducting continuing education in nursing care, quality assurance, and performance improvement, and care of instruments and supplies. Collaborates with team members and other personnel as needed to facilitate methods of resolution and solutions to problems. Identifies specific issues related to program planning and development and works with the nursing leadership team to determine methods of solution to those problems. Think critically, be clinically competent and communicate effectively while multi-tasking and prioritizing patient care. Functions in any nursing unit as assigned and appropriate. Successfully cross-train to Emergency Department (ED), Multi-Service Unit (MSU), Intensive Care Unit (ICU), and Inpatient Obstetrics Unit (OB/GYN) (for female candidates) during six (6) months orientation period. Completes all yearly Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) required training by the indicated due dates. Assists, promotes, and supports compliance with established CMS standards. Qualifications/Required Requires a minimum of one (1) year plus critical care experience, ED preferred ASN or Nursing Diploma Strong communication and organizational skills Proficient computer skills Preferred Required BLS through the American Heart Association upon hire ACLS Certification is required for ED within 6 months of hire. PALS Certification is required for ED within 6 months of hire. Active New Jersey Registered Nurse License or active Compact Registered Nurse License with New Jersey endorsement Scheduling Requirements Evening Shift, Full-Time, 1:00PM - 1:30AM, 36-hour work week Monday – Friday, every other weekend and holiday rotation Essential Functions As a Registered Nurse (RN), a typical day may include : Conducting comprehensive patient assessments and recognizing subtle clinical changes, using your judgment to intervene early and advocate for your patients Providing safe, evidence-based medications, treatments, and hands-on care grounded in strong clinical judgment Serving as a clinical partner to physicians and advanced providers, offering insight that supports timely, well-coordinated care decisions Providing clear, compassionate education to patients and families so they feel informed, supported, and prepared for the next phase of care Ensuring accurate and timely documentation within the electronic medical record to promote continuity and patient safety Contributing your voice during interdisciplinary rounds, helping drive seamless communication and smooth transitions of care Taking an active role in a highly collaborative team environment where shared accountability and teamwork directly impact outcomes Pursuing continued professional growth through access to continuing education, clinical ladder opportunities, and organizational resources that support long-term career progression This role might be for you if : Clear, compassionate communication defines how you interact with patients, families, and colleagues. To be considered for this RN opportunity, you must hold an active New Jersey Registered Nurse license in good standing and a current American Heart Association BLS certification. A Bachelor’s degree in Nursing is strongly preferred, as is prior patient care experience and comfort with electronic medical record systems (EMR) like EPIC.
