Description The Children's Home of Pittsburgh is seeking Flex Full-Time Registered Nurses for our Pediatric Specialty Hospital. This position is required to work 56 hours per pay period, working two 12 hour shifts every weekend. Weekends are defined for this position only as Friday at 7:00am to Monday at 7:00am. This position is expected to work any holiday shifts that should fall on the weekend. This position is required to flex up to 36 hours per week 8 weeks a year as follows: 6 weeks in the summer months (defined as Memorial Day to Labor Day) 2 weeks at any other point in the year Our Pediatric Specialty Hospital offers a 1:3 nurse to patient ratio. RNs provide competent, developmentally appropriate, professional, and quality nursing care by applying clinical nursing knowledge and skills, utilizing the nursing process and assuring the safety and comfort of patients and families according to legal, institutional and professional standards. Ability to work cooperatively within the framework of the nursing team. Physical ability necessary for constant standing, walking, and lifting 10 to 50 lbs. A high level of stamina also necessary for the frequent lifting and moving of patients and the carrying of supplies and equipment. Emotional/mental ability to perform effectively and efficiently under the daily pressure of stressful or emergency situations.
