Position Summary: Responsible for a variety of tasks from administrative work to patient and physician support tasks at physician offices, medical clinics and other facilities. Delivers compassionate support, attention, and assistance to patients and families. Ensures compliance with all health care regulations, including HIPAA and OSHA. Prepares and administers medications for patients as directed by physicians. Maintains safe and clean working environment and protects patients and employees by adhering to infection-control, hazardous waste and other policies and protocols. Performs other related duties as required and directed. Qualifications: Required: High school diploma or equivalent. Completion of a medical assistant program. BLS Certification. Preferred: One (1) year of experience in a medical setting. Certification as a Medical Assistant. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: A basic understanding of patient care, medical terminology, coding procedures, reference tools, and appropriate clinical pharmacology for medical assistant practice scope.
