University of Minnesota Physicians is seeking a Certified Nurse Practitioner or Certified Physician Assistant to join our growing Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CICU) practice at the University of Minnesota Medical Center. The CICU Advanced Practice Provider (APP) is an integral member of a multidisciplinary team caring for critically ill patients with complex cardiovascular disease. The CICU serves a high-acuity and growing patient population and provides advanced cardiovascular critical care, including management of cardiogenic shock, cardiac arrest, ECMO, acute coronary syndromes, complex arrhythmias, acute and advanced heart failure, respiratory failure, and other cardiovascular emergencies. In This Role, You Will: Provide comprehensive inpatient care for critically ill cardiovascular patients in collaboration with the CICU attending physician and multidisciplinary care team. Perform initial and ongoing assessment, formulate differential diagnoses, develop treatment plans, and manage complex acute and critical cardiovascular conditions. Evaluate and manage new CICU admissions, transfers, and patients experiencing acute clinical deterioration. Initiate and participate in the stabilization and resuscitation of critically ill patients. Manage vasoactive and inotropic therapies, invasive and noninvasive hemodynamic data, mechanical ventilation, ECMO, and other advanced critical-care therapies within scope and privileges.
