Performs other duties as assigned. QUALIFICATIONS: Registered Nurse with current unencumbered state licensure. Licensed Practical Nurse with current unencumbered state licensure. Job Role Summary The Electrophysiology Nurse Coordinator coordinates and facilitates scheduling of cardiac procedures at Eskenazi Health Services including cardiac catheterizations, pacemakers, implantable cardioverter-defibrillator (ICDs), trans-esophageal echos, and cardioversions. This position is also responsible for coordinating and facilitating the scheduling of cardiac procedures at Methodist Hospital including high risk cardiac catheterizations/interventions, ASD/PFO closures, EP studies/ablation, biventricular ICDs, and cardiovascular surgery. Essential Functions and Responsibilities Schedules patients for electrophysiology procedures. Completes pre-procedural screening and assures cases are scheduled in a timely manner. Coordinates care with other clinical services (i.e. anesthesia, hospitalist, and departmental leaders) as needed. Forwards outpatient referrals for prior authorization timely and provides clinical expertise when requested Supports patient throughput within the department. Communicates changes to the EP team, charge nurse, and departmental leaders to assure safe patient passage and efficient use of resources. Qualifications: Must hold current RN or LPN nursing license in the state of employment; license must be active, valid, and in good standing. Experience in Long Term Care preferred. Computer skills such as Data Entry and Word processing required. Working knowledge of the MDS 3.0 (current version of minimum data set).
