The North side houses 37 patients, and the South side houses 36 patients. There are two negative pressure rooms with an anti-room. There is a pharmacist present on the unit to assist the RNs with medication questions/concerns. Multidisciplinary rounds occur every Monday through Friday. Rounds involve all aspects of the healthcare team, including the patient and family. The Labor & Delivery unit at Pennsylvania Hospital is looking for a Full-Time Night shift Clinical Nurse 2. 15 months of Inpatient RN experience is required, and Women's Health or related experience is highly preferred! The Labor & Delivery at Pennsylvania Hospital provides holistic, family centered services to the childbearing population of the Tri-state area including Central and Southern New Jersey, Northern Delaware, and the Greater Philadelphia area and its suburbs. Labor & Delivery (L&D) is a Level III, tertiary care facility, located on the third floor of the Preston Building, which provides the following services: - Management of the uncomplicated pregnancy in the labor, delivery and recovery period - Management of the complicated pregnancy in the labor, delivery and recovery period - Operative procedures of pregnancy including cesarean section, cesarean hysterectomy, fallopian tubal ligation, and dilatation & curettage (D&E) - Antenatal testing including biophysical profile (BPP), non-stress test (NST), amniotic fluid volume indexing (AFI), and ultrasound - Interruption of pregnancy for genetic indications via cerclage removal, dilatation & evacuation, and prostaglandin induction.
