Principle Responsibilities Rooms patients, manages patient flow and obtains adequate patient medical information/data. Collects and confirms pt information via interview, questionnaires, vital signs and accurately documents in EMR according to documentation standards. Assists patients, as necessary, to prepare for physician exam, including providing psycho-emotional support Assists with the collection, labeling, and processing of specimens. Facilitates obtaining lab/imaging results. Works with the electronic medical records in basket, responding to messages as delegated by RN or provider. May need to help cover front desk and provide backup to patient registration/scheduling. Performs patient care tasks as delegated by Provider or RN Performs injections. Assists with procedures. Coordinates results of tests, procedures etc. with provider or RN. May prepare refill information for provider to review and prescribe. May assist with patient transportation. Uses equipment following policies, procedures and manufacturer directions or standards. Follows all policies, procedures, standard work, and proper techniques when providing patient care. Cleans, stocks, maintains inventory for exam, medication and supply rooms. Reports any acute problems and changes in patient's condition. Applies High reliable safety principles to all interactions. Complete scheduled cleaning requirements for designated work areas. Document completion of work to comply with infection control and OSHA standards Implement other infection control procedures as needed and adhere to protective clothing requirements. Ensure clinic supplies are adequately stocked and well organized. Process and deliver department inventory requests in a timely manner. Routinely check expiration dates and remove or replace outdated supplies. Here's what you'll do when you join us: Complete admission assessment according to unit policy, utilizing past medical history, therapeutic communication, and physical assessment. Identify nursing diagnosis/collaborative problems to determine appropriate interventions within the accepted standards of care. Initiate and document discharge and transfer planning facilitate "Patient Centered" communication and care. Assume patient care responsibilities by organizing workload and remaining flexible to change. Communicate professionally and effectively with patients, families, and staff to ensure "Patient Centered" coordination of care. Ensure plan of care is consistent with nursing standards and hospital policy and procedures. Participate in quality assurance activities to evaluate and improve patient care. Promote an environment that encourages individual growth and heightens professional practice. Participate in professional growth and self-development activities to ensure accountability for own professional nursing practice. Participate in staff meetings, committees, and special projects; actively contribute to Acute Care's quality and development. Collaborate with and delegate to ancillary/support professional staff as appropriate; assure adherence to scope of practice. Current or past clinical experience preferred in acute Med/Surg/Peds Nursing with abilities to care for adult or geriatric patients with total joint/orthopedic, general medical and general surgical conditions. Demonstrate abilities to manage multiple priorities, organize the work load; includes critical thinking, delegation skills and respectful communication. Experience in assessing the individual needs of the adult/geriatric or pediatric patients and developing appropriate written plans of care. Current BLS Certification or able to complete within one month. Current ACLS Certification or able to complete within six months and maintain certification. Demonstrate ability to follow and adhere to Grand Itasca Clinic and Hospital policies, vision, mission and values. Maintain reliable and consistent attendance.
