Organization: NICU Cohort 13 Job Summary: Job Description Summary: Join our team in a Level IV Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) dedicated to providing advanced, compassionate care to our most vulnerable patients. Our NICU includes over 131 beds and supports more than 1,400 premature and/or critically ill newborns annually. Neonatal Services is organized into specialized pods, allowing for cohorting of patient diagnoses and delivery of highly expert, focused care. In this role, you will assist with medical procedures, monitor and interpret vital signs, operate specialized equipment, and support families through education and communication with empathy and understanding. Additional responsibilities may be assigned as needed. Unit Summary: The Cardiac and Complex Surgical Unit is a 44-bed specialty unit within the NICU that cares for critically ill and medically complex neonates. Patient populations include those with cardiac, neurological, renal, genetic conditions, prematurity, and other high-acuity diagnoses. This unit provides advanced therapies such as therapeutic hypothermia (cooling), dialysis, continuous renal replacement therapy (CRRT), and extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO). Patients may require varying levels of respiratory support, ranging from room air to high-frequency ventilation. Care delivery is highly specialized, with most patient assignments structured as 1:1 or 2:1 to ensure optimal outcomes and individualized attention. Shift: 7pm-7am 36 hours a week Level III/IV NICU, Critical Care, or ER experience highly preferred. The NICU Registered Nurse applies the nursing process to plan and implement the care of patients, including patient and family education and continuum of care planning. Effectively communicates pertinent patient/family information to the health care team. Collaborates in establishing patient goals and evaluates progress to ensure effective outcomes. Furthers professional growth by engaging in learning activities according to the Board of Nursing standards. . KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Collaborates in establishing the plan of care, coordinates and implements care delivery while anticipating patient care needs across the continuum. Analyzes comprehensive information pertinent to the patient's care and management to determine nursing diagnosis. Continually utilizes the nursing process to evaluate patient's progress towards goals and applies appropriate interventions to ensure effective outcomes. Nursing Patient Assessment & Evaluation (Novice): Possesses sufficient fundamental proficiency to successfully demonstrate the ability to assess and evaluate patients in practical applications of moderate difficulty. Conducts primary care patient interviews and physical examinations. Demonstrates sufficient acumen to recognize problems, ask questions and to contact the patient's primary care provider and other members of the healthcare team. Has experience in gathering pertinent clinical data that aid in referral, treatment, or other primary care pathways. Evidence-Based Practice (Novice): Possesses sufficient fundamental proficiency to successfully search for evidence to answer clinical questions. : LPN Position Summary Under the general direction of the Wellness Director, primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to providing assistance to the residents in maintaining their highest level of functional independence and psychosocial wellness. This is a full-time role, covering days and some weekends. LPN Duties/Responsibilities: Assumes responsibility for administering quality care to meet the total needs of residents Provides medication administration, handling, & storage Provides medication assistance for residents in accordance with state regulations and company policy including pouring, preparing, assisting with administration, and documentation Assists in maintaining the medication cart and storage room in a neat and orderly manner Accepts responsibility for accurate medication counts and for security of the medication cart and medication storage room for assigned shifts Comply with company policies and procedures related to controlled substances, narcotic count and documentation Use sound nursing judgment to evaluate changes in resident situations and report to Wellness Director and/or physician when appropriate. Observes changes in Resident status, needs, or preferences and communicates them to the Wellness Director Offers comfort and support, emotionally and physically, to residents Reports resident and staff concerns and/or issues to the Wellness Director and/or Executive Director, as designated. Job Description ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: 1. Provides patient treatments which meet patient needs and uses current treatment knowledge in accordance with facilities clinical procedures. This includes but is not limited to: · Recording Screens/Resident Needs Reviews, evaluations, daily treatment notes, discharge summaries and walking rounds in accordance with facility Policies and Procedures. · Recording treatment charges accurately and ensuring that documentation is consistent with billing data. · Writing specific, objective documentation that is outcome oriented and details the patient’s needs, potential to benefit from treatment, and progress achieved to date. Includes specific, objective measurable goals. 3 . Consistently demonstrates facility interdisciplinary approach to patient care. This includes but is not limited to: Integrating findings of other members of the interdisciplinary team in treatment assessment and recommendations. Integrating input from patient and family in treatment assessment and recommendations. Preparing for and providing meaningful contributions to the rehab team conferences, patient care conferences, utilization review meetings, family conferences, and caregiver training sessions. Collaborating with and informing facility staff in areas of patient progress. Educating members of the team in areas of expertise. Working with a facility to teach documentation practices which assist the respiratory therapy team. Communicating effectively with discharge planners. 4. Contributes to professional development of self. · Maintaining current professional status and licensure. · Adhering to professional standards of conduct and clinical code of ethics and practice. · Implementing in-services and training. · Maintaining a current body of knowledge in areas of clinical expertise through seminars, professional journals, and peers. · Meeting continuing education requirements of regulatory agencies. 5.
