Position Summary: The Surgical Technologist , handles the instruments, supplies, and equipment necessary during the surgical procedure. Follows risk management practices to provide a safe environment for the patient, co-worker and hospital. Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served. Maintains professional appearance, behavior and work environment. Enhances personal and professional development. Comply with safety activities, policies and procedures and regulatory requirements such as OSHA and The Joint Commission. Employee is responsible for all other duties as assigned for which competency has been demonstrated. Physical requirements: This position is classified as Medium Work in the Dictionary of Occupational Titles, requiring the exertion of 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
