We work with 10 Cardiologist and seven of which are interventionist and one electrophysiologist. Job Summary Duties will include: Moderate sedation, hemodynamic monitoring, circulating, and pre and post care of the Cath Lab patient. Documents and obtains accurate patient information for national registries. Performs daily quality controls for a wide range of equipment utilized in the routine care of a patient. Develops and integrates safe, competent and efficient standards of care for patients presenting to the lab. Demonstrates knowledge of cardiovascular medications, including dosing, side effects , and drug interactions. Uses critical thinking to identify and manage adverse events or unanticipated outcomes. Ability to communicate clearly both in writing and verbally. Knowledge of anatomy. Knowledgeable in radiation safety. Advanced ECG and arrhythmia skills required. Flexibility in work hours. The CCU/IU nurse monitors the overall hemodynamic status of the critically ill patient while performing head to toe assessments, assessing all body systems, rhythms and invasive lines, tubes and drains. In the CCU and IU, the Registered Nurse is expected to administer, titrate and monitor critically ill patients on critical medications Many of these patients are post-surgical and require intense monitoring. They are able to communicate appropriately with the physicians and surgeons any concerning status changes or body system specifics that may require further intervention. CCU/IU nurses operate and are trained on life saving advanced medical equipment including but not limited to ventilators, Intra-Aortic Balloon pumps, Assistive Heart pumps, Continuous Dialysis machines, Hypothermia induction and maintenance devices, defibrillators and others. CCU/IU Nurses are required to stay current with both BLS and ACLS certifications. The Registered Nurse in CCU functions in units we call pods. This design allows the OHH nurse to maintain a 1:1 or 1:2 nurse patient ratio in the Critical Care Department and a 1:3 nurse patient ratio in the Interventional Unit. This allows CCU/IU nurses adequate time to monitor and care for critically ill patients thus ensuring the highest quality, safe and patient-focused care. Qualifications Education: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing program. Licensure/Certification: Registered Nurse with current Oklahoma licensure. Current BLS certification required at the time of hire and ACLS certification within 18 months of hire. Experience: Minimum of one (1) year of continuous experience in telemetry or related cardiac clinical setting preferred. With low, fixed nurse-to-patient ratios, our nursing team has time to get to know their patients and their families while providing the highest quality, safe, patient-focused care. Departmental Overview Compensation $42 flat rate PRN III - 12 shifts in a 6 week schedule. Evening differential $2.50/hr. Night differential $3.00/hr. Weekend differential $3.00/hr. The Rehabilitation Center at Norman Regional Health System is a comprehensive inpatient rehab unit with 21 beds. Our team is an interdisciplinary group of highly-trained professionals that utilize clinical reasoning and state of the art equipment to address our patients’ needs. Our staff operates with compassion and empathy to provide top-level service to our patient population. Our main goal is to restore mobility, function, and independence after debility due to injury, surgery, or illness . Job Summary Assessment/reassessment - Systematically assesses / reassesses the health care needs of individuals; appropriate for specific age groups and patient conditions. Involves patient, family and other healthcare providers as appropriate Nursing Diagnosis and Outcomes - Analyzes assessment to determine nursing diagnosis and expected outcomes, involving patient, family and other healthcare providers as appropriate.
