Position details Status Part-Time Shift Days FTE / Hours 0.6 / 24 Schedule Two (2) 12-Hour Shifts 6:45am - 7:15pm + Weekend & Holiday Rotation Position Requirements Education: Graduate of an accredited school/college of nursing required. Bachelor's degree preferred. Licensure: Registered Nursing licensed in the State of Nebraska or eligible compact state required. Certification: Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support Certification (ACLS) to be acquired within 90 days of hire or transfer date required. Experience: 1+ Years of RN (Registered Nurse) Experience preferred. Required Knowledge/Skills/Abilities Strong knowledge of post-operative orthopedic care, including pain management and mobility assistance Proficiency in IV therapy, wound care, patient assessment, and vital sign monitoring Ability to recognize and respond to complications including respiratory distress and infection Excellent communication and patient education skills Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment Proficiency in electronic medical records (EMR) and documentation of patient assessments and interventions Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills Essential Job Functions Patient Care and Monitoring Conduct comprehensive nursing assessments post-surgery Monitor vital signs, pain levels, and overall patient condition Administer medications including pain management protocols Assist patients with mobility ensuring safety and adherence to post op restrictions Clinical Support and Emergency Response Identify signs of post operative complications and intervene appropriately Provide wound care, monitor for infections, and manage post anesthesia side effects Initiates action to correct, prevent, and/or minimize risk(s) to the patient, family or hospital employees (i.e., falls, needle sticks, patient concerns). Communication and Documentation Maintain accurate and timely medical records Communicate effectively with patients and families, addressing concerns and providing education about recovery expectations.
