Scheduled Weekly Hours: 32 - Performing under the direction of the RN/LPN and as a member of the unit-based patient care team, the Certified Nursing Assistant performs duties of direct and indirect patient care. As delegated, the direct patient care tasks includes but are not limited to activities of daily living, vital signs, glucometry, EKG’s, weights and Intake/Output data collection. Indirect patient care activities include, but are not limited to, transport, restocking and/or obtaining patient care supplies. In addition, the C.N.A. is responsible for responding in a timely manner to the needs of patients and family members and taking a proactive role in the efficient operation of the unit. Pre-operative Responsibilities: • Function in direct collaboration with Cardiac Surgeons in the division in the evaluation and assessment of pre and post-operative outpatients • Performs comprehensive initial pre-operative cardiac surgical patient evaluation • Performs Pre Admission Testing (PAT) for patients awaiting cardiac surgery • Follow and manage patients during interim period between PAT visit and date of surgery to include following up on all pre-op data • Facilitate scheduling of operative procedures by coordinating with the division surgical scheduler. • Performs post operative outpatient assessment of patients • Participate in the development of pre-op and post discharge protocols to standardize practice • Collaborate with the Administrative Division Manager to ensure patient schedules and referrals are completed and correct. • Coordinate pre and post-operative consultations with other divisions or departments when necessary • Ensure pre-operative outpatients are fully evaluated and ready for surgery on a timely basis and in accordance with available operating suites • Follows and manages outpatients in collaboration with Attending Surgeon while enhancing continuity of care • Provide first contact for patients and their families • Provide care coordination for patient testing prior to the initial office visit • Coordinate care with Heart Center Access and Care Coordinators • Refill prescriptions as needed Ideal Candidate will have: • One year of APP experience, required • Current licensure in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts as a PA or NP. • Master’s Degree in Nursing or Physician Assistant Studies. • National certification in acute care advanced practice nursing or Physician Assistant practice Summary The Nurse Practitioner (NP) is a licensed provider. The Operating Room Registered Nurse (OR RN) is responsible for coordinating and providing safe, high-quality nursing care to patients undergoing surgical and procedural services. Working collaboratively with surgeons, anesthesia providers, surgical technologists, nurses, and other members of the healthcare team, the OR RN oversees patient care and nursing activities within the operating/procedure room and helps ensure an efficient, organized, and safe surgical environment. Responsibilities & Duties Performs nursing assessment and evaluation under Restore Cryotherapy's medical and nursing protocols: Administers two primary nursing services; intravenous therapy and intramuscular injections using the prescribed formula and array of vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants. Mild hyperbaric oxygen treatments. Administers skin testing as well as transdermal immunotherapy. Uses electronic medical records to document client visits and therapies received. Under the provider's and nursing director's supervision, addresses and answers client questions using the Nursing Reference Guide and communicates to the nursing team any issues or adverse events. Exhibits use of therapeutic communication, exceptional customer service, professionalism, timeliness, efficiency and teamwork in all aspects of work. Maintains a level of knowledge conducive to providing high quality, competitive and kind nursing care. Assists staff with other store services. Opportunity to participate in off-site nursing events and special projects. Participates in periodical and mandatory nursing evaluations. Other related functions as assigned. Skills & Qualifications Licensed as a Registered Nurse (RN). One year of experience administering injections. Experience and a high comfort level with using a computer to document.
