Qualifications for Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN): Current, unencumbered active LPN license in the state of New Jersey . Valid BLS Certification (CPR) required. Ability to care for and manage multiple patients in a fast-paced healthcare environment. Strong clinical judgment, communication skills, and attention to detail. Minimum of 1 year of experience in a sub-acute and/or long-term care setting preferred Experience in Point Click Care (PCC) preferred. Patients usually cared for in this area include those with traumatic brain injuries, spinal cord injuries, rib fractures and lung injuries, as well as diverse orthopedic injuries requiring frequent monitoring and care. The unit is staffed with registered nurses, critical care technicians, trauma surgery nurse practitioners and resident physicians. Staff also work closely with respiratory therapy and specialized surgical groups such as orthopedics and neurosurgery. Nurses and critical care technicians working in this area receive education specific to the care of the trauma patient.
